Thank you for your interest in the 2023 CLM Litigation Management Study. This Study was commissioned by the Claims and Litigation Management Alliance (CLM) and conducted by Suite 200 Solutions. This specific Study is the 5th Study we have performed for the CLM. The prior studies of 2012, 2015, and 2019, focus exclusively on the thoughts and opinions of senior claim and litigation officers. The previous studies of 2020 (and later study of 2024) focus on the thoughts and opinions of defense counsel.
The purpose of these Studies is to facilitate improved communication and working relationships between litigation executives and the defense firms with whom they partner. We know many attorneys, especially newer or younger attorneys, feel that they benefit from knowing more about the claims organizations with which they work.
How litigation executives organize their litigation resources, how they define their litigation objectives, and what they want most from counsel, are several examples of data elements that are critically important to aligning needs and expectations between counsel and their principals in the tri-partite relationship.
More than 90 senior claim and litigation executives took the time to answer almost 160 questions designed by a Steering Committee of 45 Members. We view this and other CLM Studies as being the most comprehensive of their type in the industry.
