Dean serves as an advisor to multiple Suite 200 Solutions clients, and also serves in the role of Chief Strategy Officer for Suite 200 Solution’s Transaction Advisory Group.
He brings to his clients more than 40 years of experience in senior claim executive roles. Prior to joining our group, he served as Executive Vice President and Chief Claims Officer for QBE North America. Prior to his retirement from QBE, Dean served as EVP of Claims and Operations for GAB Robins, EVP and Chief Claims Officer for CNA and Zurich, Senior Vice President for Providence Washington, and as Vice President for Commercial Union Insurance.
Dean’s focus is on the optimization of property casualty claims operations, both internal and outsourced. He advises on the management of all loss cost components, strategic planning, supply chain management, and the development of critical claims performance indicators and metrics.
For service and technology companies that serve the insurance and claim industries, Dean advises on marketplace opportunities, product and service offering refinement, creating attractive value propositions, and executing marketing approaches that are responsive to customer needs.
Dean has served as a board member of the National Insurance Crime Bureau, the American Insurance Claim Administration Committee, Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Maryland, the Community Law Center, and Arbitration Forums, Inc. He is also a former member of the Claims and Litigation Management (CLM) Alliance executive board and a recipient of the CLM Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.
Dean is a graduate of Bowdoin College. He has completed management training at the Kellogg School of Northwestern University and advanced management training at the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania. He earned his Chartered Property and Casualty Underwriter (CPCU) designation in 1980 and his Certified Insurance Counselor (CIC) designation in 1992.
