Rich brings to his clients both seasoned executive leadership experience and deep claims management expertise.
Prior to joining Suite 200 Solutions, Rich served as President and CEO for Church Mutual Insurance Company, an organization where he served also as Chief Operating Officer, and before that as Vice President of Claims.
Among several key roles during a 17-year tenure with Wausau / Liberty Mutual, Rich served as Enterprise SVP of Claims for the Agency Markets segment, where he oversaw 4,000+ claims professionals and more than 3.5 billion in loss payments and reserves annually.
Rich started his career in the Navy Judge Advocate General’s office and in the Navy Legal Service Office. This foundation led to his serving as an attorney in private practice, as a claims and staff attorney in multiple organizations, and to his leading Toxic Torts, Large Loss, and Workers Compensation claim units at both Acuity Insurance and Wausau / Liberty. His experience with diverse claims types is extensive.
Currently, Rich focuses his consulting work on the optimization of property casualty claims operations, both internal and outsourced. He advises on both claims and non-claims related challenges, including cross-functional team leadership, operations management, DEI leadership, and enterprise change management. Deeply passionate about claims management excellence, Rich significantly enjoys performing claim and quality assurance audits.
Rich achieved his Bachelor of Arts and his Juris Doctorate degrees from Marquette University. During his twenty-five years of active duty and Naval reserve service, Rich received multiple achievement, commendation, and service medals. He currently serves on multiple boards, previously served on the board of the American Property and Casualty Insurers of America (APCIA) and continues to lecture at the Lubar School of Business of UW-Milwaukee and the College of Business at Marquette University.
